Hard Drive Data Recovery

There can be numerous reasons for the failure of hard drives, both mechanical and logical. So, before proceeding with the recovery process, determine the problem first. To do so, Bingecart offers free evaluation. It takes less than 24 hours and provides a source to recover.

However, the price depends on the type of recovery you choose. There are two types of recovery. One is Logical Recovery, which recovers data using specialized data recovery hardware and software. Another is Physical Recovery, where we would need to replace internal parts of the hard drive before recovering the data.

Free Assessment

Free evaluation is the first phase in the data recovery process. However, we check the circuit board for damage after checking the hard drive. After that, we look at the firmware on the ROM chip and the System area to see if any failure prevents the data from being accessed. Besides, we'll run a media test to consider how stable the read-write heads are.

Logical Failures

After evaluating, we start the process of accessing the data. This means re-writing the drive's firmware, replacing the circuit board, and imaging the drive sector by sector. However, a hard drive is made of many sectors of data.

If any sector data is corrupted or damaged, we can change it using algorithms to resolve reading problems. Further, a 1TB hard drive has 2 billion sectors; thus, data recovery can take a few days. We use PC-3000 UDMA's at Bingecart, combining data recovery hardware and software.

Physical Failures

At the time of evaluation, we found that the hard drive has a mechanical problem preventing data access. Thus, the drive will be assessed in the Class 10 Clean Room. This is where you can open a hard drive and replace damaged parts so we can recover your data.

Recovery

Once all your problems are resolved, we will send you a secure link to help you recover from your drive. Thus, we save your data on an external hard drive once you have confirmed that you're happy with the recovery process. Also, we keep a copy of your data on file for 14 days. This is a time that allows you to complete a backup.

Facts about a Hard Drive:

The average life of an external hard drive is three years, and the desktop hard drive is five years.

Drivers fail due to:

Poor Manufacturing
Viruses
Corruption
Overheating
Electrical Failure
Shock
Fire Damage etc.

Follow the below steps to minimize your data loss if you've failed hard drive:

  1. Avoid switching on the dry or wet drive; call for help if required.
  2. Switch off your desktop instantly.
  3. Never install or re-install software or hardware.
  4. To repair a damaged drive, avoid using DIY recovery software.
  5. Don't try to run a visibly damaged hard drive.
